Nozzle for shot blasting
Shot blasting requires nozzle which is hard and abrasion resistant. That is why nozzle must be made from hard materials. All the airflow that flows through it really does it’s toll to any surface, especially with higher airflow.
Which eno you want depenfs on few elements, such as how fine job you want to make, how high airflow you want to sustain, type of abrasive you will use, which media you want to clean and so on.
Lower price shot blasting nozzle, which you use for shot blasting, are made from ceramic compound and are normally about half an inch in diameter and therefore ment for lower air flow but are easier manageable.
On other side we then have nozzle which is made from tungsten carbide, one of hardest materials in the worls. This one can have shorter diameter which gives more air flow trough it.
There are other materials used for nozzle, but htese two are more commonly used with sand blaster.
But don’t forget one thing. When buying nozzle keep in mind you need compatible air jet for it since two parts work in conjunction with each other.
