Shot blast machine
Shot blast machine works exactly like sandblasting machine, the shot blast machine also look similar to sand blasting machine. The basic difference is that shot-blasting material is much more larger than sandblasting material. These shot blaster are really heavy and they deliver much larger kinetic impact on the surface of each shot, which can do even difficult job on even hard metals, on the other side sandblasting can only do a job on soft layers of paint or rust. Shot blasting is commonly used to make metal and grids sheets hard.
Structure of all shot blast machine is similar to the structure of sand blast machine they all consists of the same parts such as shot blaster nozzles through which shots are thrown, container for shot blasting material (any type of shots), propelling unit, which propels these shots (pressure pump or gravity wheel) and the main part is blast cabinet or it is called as booth as well, which keeps everything in a secure environment.
Concept of shot blast machine the same as of sand blast machine, there is no difference in the machines but the difference is the material, the effect it make on the surface and the fact that shots don’t raise dust. Shot blasting machine also contains some kind of recycle system which recycle the material, mechanism of recycle system is to feeds used shots back to the hopper or container which helps to keep maintenance expense lower.
The process and technique of shot blast machine is the same as sand blast machine except that shot pellets are used instead of sand. The results are different in shot blasting process compared to sand blasting; material used in shot blast machine is heavier and larger, yielding a far greater kinetic force so it deforms the surface powerfully. Shot blast machine is largely used for hardening the surfaces of metal in the industry.
Shot blast machine can be used to make the surface harder against physical stress as well as to make the surface smooth to remove any irregularities. Nature of shot blasting material is like this so it can be used to achieve above said output whereas a sand blast machine cannot be used for this purpose, a specially designed shot blast machine is used by the shot blasting process. Design is quite similar of both shot blasting machine and sand blaster however there is one difference that shot blasting machine and sand blaster are largely used in any industry.
